Surface Season 2 and others…
Ok I just finished watching yet another of a great series of television shows that got canceled. Quality television is being destroyed by the new crap list of reality show filth that is polluting out televisions.
The show that has gotten me so outraged again was the 2006 cancellation of Surface after 15 episodes and a cliff hanger ending that left us fans begging for more. I feel like screaming at the executives of NBC and wring their necks until they at least finish the series off. I have watched this series 3 times now and each time I have trouble conceiving what pencil pushing MORON made the decision to not continue the show. This series had quality acting, a GREAT story, intellectual stimulating content, phenomenal characters and even a lovable CG seas monster named “NIM(rod)” the show had it all. So why did it get canceled after only one season?
The answer is simple the onslaught of the reality crap such as Americas Next Top Model, Bachelor, Big Brother giving people a glimmer of hope that they too could be on television disgusts me to know end. Have we become such a pathetic and brainless group of television viewers that we can’t even enjoy a plot based story any more. We are reduced to escaping our dreary lives by living through the filth blatantly scripted so called reality TV.
I for one HATE “reality” television shows I miss the good old days of TV in the 80′s when we had shows that we could enjoy even though we know that they could never happen. Lately there have been so many great shows that have been canceled after only 1 or two seasons that I am losing all faith in television. Threshold, Special Unit 2, Surface, Traveler, Drive and many other shows that never got a chance because the majority of the population that make up the rating are two busy dreaming about being the next no talent singer on “American Idol”.
I have also made an open offer to donate MY and MY companies time to help with production of Surface Season 2 if need be to help get this show back on the air. I am capable of putting together CG animation and Editing/Compositing Teams to complete post production for the show if the filming of episodes was completed and raw tapes handed over to us. Well that is my rant about television if you want to help try and get Surface back on the air visit these sites to help drive traffic and signatures into the hand of the people that can make it happen.

Season 2 or a TV-movie to finish it off, Defo. Down with unrealistic reality tv!
Just like with Firefly they could cap it off with a movie so the fans are not left hanging wondering what happens to all the characters we followed through the first season.

Even here in the netherlands Surface was on TV… and yes I thought it was a good show.
It attracted my attention, and the times I had to miss out an episode due to work, I realized, darn this is a good series… and I enjoyed it very much
And yes, the fact we are over stimulated with reality shows is asweel creating a tv dessert here…

I purchased the first season of Surface as soon as it was available. I really enjoyed the series among all the other intelligent series that were cut short by the network morons. My daughter had never seen the series. She has been one of my recent converts to Sci-fi type shows. So last Saturday we had a surface marathon and watched all 15 episodes back to back. She loved it and was astonished that the series had been cancelled after only one season. We both have had conversations about the dumbing down of TV for the cheap to produce reallity shows. I HATE REALITY SHOWS. Right now I am watching Moonlight on the Sci-fi channel. Another show that was cut short too soon.

luved dark angel what did they do cancel it . then got into tru calling any what a surprise then surface i now some of the acting was bad but the story was great got the dvd when it come out then i was getting into bionic woman . tv sucks .i hope they stop putting all that crap on dont think i watch tv at all now.
please bring this show back. it was great. it had so much potential and wasnt given a chance. plus us die hard Surface fans were totally left hanging. We deserve more consideration than that! Team Nimrod all the way!

Really interesting show, with a really interesting story. A TV-movie would be great to finish it off. The sea monsters and the idea behind them was both original and intense!
The show was really cool, it’s a shame they cancelled it. A movie would be great. I really liked the way the story alternated between the characters, the mystery’s that could hide in the sea and the references to human genetics experiments. One day I believe we will come to the point as to create completely new species.
SURFACE is a really great show ! I just loved it.
It is definitelly worthy to continue it and make a second season or even a third !
Just found the series on Netflix on Watch it now. Great show. I am hoping for a Finale of some sort or a new season!
I don’t know how they could continue the series this many years later, but I wish there was SOME resolution. A graphic novel maybe…

i believe that surface is the best t.v Series that has ever been aired, and i want more! it is such a pity that they felt that this series was not worth their effort and cancelled it, because i would donate any amount of money to make at least 2 more series… i am one of the biggest fans of this show i watched it as soon as it came on tv and did not stop watching it.

It is sad when all that TV programming becomes about $$$$ really sad.
I just finished watching the whole season not realizing how long its been since it was aired. Can not believe it did not continue, and the fact that I was stuck on a show that they did not at least leave a conclusion and for those that were really interested in. That shows how much NBC actually cares for there consumers.

Surface will never return to tv, and here’s why. The majority of the tv watching public are fucking RETARDED. They eat up those gay so called reallity shows. Therefore the networks see this and realize they can produce a shitty reallity show for far less than a show like Surface make a shit pile more money.
Do I want to see the series continue? FUCK YEAH!! Will it continue? Not bloody likely. There’s a better chance of finding life on Mars than there is an awsome show like Surface returning to TV.
